Talk by Rob Gordon PhD Clinical Psychologist
Rob talks to community members to help them understand their situation and how to survive and grow from it. Experience has shown that the right language puts words to what people are going through and gives them a capacity to get beyond their current state, think positively about their future and protect themselves from damaging effects of the recovery period.
A spiritual perspective in the background and working with enhanced consciousness of the impact of such events can allow the meeting to become an event in which community members are touched by something beyond them. Reflecting on this process has led to some surprising insights into the working of the Holy Spirit.
Rob Gordon is a clinical psychologist who has worked with communities affected by bushfires, floods, storms, earthquakes and terrorist events for 40 years. He is a psychotherapist with a clinical practice and has been working with anthroposophy for 60 years. Moving between these activities enriches them all and constantly opens experiences which reach beyond familiar understandings pointing to a more spiritual perspective.
